The songs “My Lighthouse” by Rend Collective and “Oceans (Where My Feet May Fail)”by Hillsong UNITED, inspired me to make this piece. I chose this image, because with the recent death of a fellow classmate and one of my close friends, God has helped me through this storm and he is my lighthouse and even when my feet may fail, God’s love for me never does.  The most challenging thing with value was with the stormy sky and the waves. It was hard to draw the waves and the sky realistically. The highlight for me in the drawing process, was adding texture to the lighthouse and the sky. It was not as complicated after I started to practice drawing skies and bricks.  The important thing that I learned is to draw lightly and that your blending stomp is your best friend, when it comes to drawing; it helps you blend and make all the lines fade away. The idea that I am visually communicating is that God is always there when you need him during a tough time, and that is communicated by the lighthouse and the storm surrounding it.
